May got off to a warm start in Minnesota and the month of June is following suit.
Pete Boulay with the State Climatology Office says a heat wave peaked on May 10th…
“International Falls had multiple days of 90s in a row. They actually wound up with four of 90s in a row up there. So, the extreme heat May 10th and the rain later in the month was probably the two big weather events that stand out.”
Boulay says central and southern Minnesota got one-and-a-half to three-and-a-half inches of rainfall May 19th through 24th. Parts of Wright County measured more than 4 inches over that same period.
