Wright County’s jobless rate took a jump in June.
New statistics from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development shows that Wright County’s non-seasonally adjusted jobless rate last month was 3.7 percent, up from 2.9 percent in May. The uptick in unemployment compares with trends during the month of June over the past several years. The June unemployment rate took a jump of anywhere from a half-point to nine-tenths of a point over each of the last four years.
Statistics for June 2025 show Wright County’s overall employment was actually up very slightly, but the overall labor force also jumped by more than 700 workers to more than 86 thousand, two-hundred. That’s a new high for 2025, and an un-official all-time high in the Wright County labor force.
Meanwhile, Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June was 3.3 percent, unchanged from May, and the seasonally adjusted U-S unemployment rate last month was 4.1 percent, down a tenth of a point from May.
