There’s still time to apply to become a Master Gardener in Wright County.
The University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program is accepting applications through October 1st for the program year that begins on December 29th. People in all of Minnesota’s 87 counties and of any experience level are welcome to apply.
Individuals joining the program begin an internship that starts with the Master Gardener course training in January. The course is taught online and is self-paced.
Following completion of the course, interns will complete a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service working with local Extension Master Gardeners on a variety of projects that educate the public about gardening and horticulture.
Individuals completing the internship then become certified University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners, and contribute at least 25 hours of volunteer service annually to remain certified.
