Minnesota youth hunters have until August 14th to apply for special deer hunts in state parks. DNR conservation officer Paul Burr says demand remains high…
“From what I understand, we don’t have any issues getting as many applicants as we do for permits. We usually have over and that’s why we have to go to a lottery draw. Unfortunately, not everyone can participate because they’re limited. So interest in these hunts continues to be very, very good.”
Burr says participants come from a variety of backgrounds. The Minnesota DNR says the special youth deer hunts are designed to give young hunters a chance to get outdoors while helping manage deer populations in state parks.
