Back-to-school shopping may have gotten an earlier start this year, but that doesn’t mean consumers are rushing to buy.

Minnesota Retailers Association President Bruce Nustad says many shoppers are being strategic…

Consumers, especially here in Minnesota are really focused on coupons and sales and discounts and hitting the registers at the right time. So while we saw an earlier shopping season, we’re also seeing consumers just wait for that perfect moment to buy.”

The average K-12 family is expected to spend just over 860 dollars this year. A college family’s expected spending is even higher at just over 14-hundred dollars.
