A bicyclist was injured early Saturday afternoon when she was struck by an SUV in the City of Monticello.

The State Patrol reports that shortly after 12 noon on Saturday, a Ford Expedition SUV was exiting from westbound I-94, and was making a right turn to enter northbound Highway 25. Meanwhile, bicyclists were traveling south on the sidewalk along Highway 25, and were reportedly crossing in the marked crosswalk. The SUV struck one of the bicyclists in the intersection.

The bicyclist, 53-year-old Brenda Cloutier of Elk River, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Monticello Hospital.

The driver of the SUV, 48-year-old Richard Wendt of Burnsville, and two male passengers in the vehicle, ages 22 and 19, both also of Burnsville, were not injured.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office and CentraCare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
