Big Lake Man Injured in Monticello Traffic Crash Friday

A Big Lake man was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash late Friday afternoon in Monticello.

The State Patrol reports that just before 6 PM Friday, a Nissan Sentra passenger car was eastbound on Highway 10 while a Ford Edge SUV was westbound on Highway 10. The vehicles collided at the intersection with County Road 50.

The driver of the Nissan sedan, 26-year-old Benjamin Blowers of Big Lake escaped injury in the crash. The driver of the Ford SUV, 72-year-old Dana Gloege of Big Lake suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Monticello Hospital. Officials say that alcohol was present in Gloege’s system, though they did not say whether or not that was a factor in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seat belt.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and the Big Lake Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
