Big Lake Man Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash in Neighboring Sherburne County

A Big Lake man was injured when three vehicles collided Monday morning in neighboring Sherburne County.

The State Patrol reports that around 9:45 AM, a Chevy Equinox SUV and a Ford Ranger pickup were southbound on Highway 25, while a semi-tractor was eastbound on County Road 11 in Big Lake Township when all three vehicles collided near the intersection.

The driver of the pickup, 29-year-old Daniel Silva of Big Lake sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was treated at the Monticello Hospital.

The driver of the SUV, 65-year-old Blane Travis of Elk River, and a passenger, 65-year-old Donna Travis, also from Elk River, both escaped injury.

The driver of the semi-tractor, a 49-year-old man from Blaine, was not injured.

The Big Lake Police Department and the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
