A Big Lake man died over the weekend from injuries he sustained in an auto crash several days earlier.
Officials say 44-year-old Ryan Ebert passed away Saturday at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Ebert had sustained life threatening injuries around 10 PM on Monday, October 13th when his Ram pickup collided with a Ford Transit bus in Apple Valley.
Officials say both the Transit bus and the pickup were northbound on Highway 77, just south of I-35E when the pickup struck the bus and then collided with the cable median barrier.
Ryan Ebert was an 18-year veteran of the St. Cloud Police Department. St. Cloud Police Chief Jeff Oxton said in a statement that Ebert’s service to the department will always be appreciated and remembered, and that the department was honored to have known and worked with him.
Ebert is survived by an 18-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son. A GoFundMe page has been created to provide financial help for the family.
