Buffalo Community Orchestra to Perform “The American Spirit” Sunday in St. Michael

The Buffalo Community Orchestra will once again be performing their concert entitled “The American Spirit” this weekend. The orchestra debuted the concert last Sunday at the Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center. This weekend, the performance moves to the St. Michael-Albertville High School Auditorium.

The orchestra will be featuring Aaron Copland’s famous “Lincoln Portrait,” “Ashokan Farewell” by Jay Ungar, which was used extensively in the Ken Burns documentary series, “The Civil War,” and a multi-media experience, “Ellis Island: The Dream of America.”

The stirring music and images will be enhanced by narration by Bradley Greenwald and Mo Perry.

The American Spirit” will be performed Sunday, May 5th at 4 PM at the St. Michael-Albertville High School Auditorium. A Conductor’s Chat with BCO Conductor Hisham Bravo Groover will preview the music beginning at 3 PM.
