Buffalo Strong is inviting residents and visitors to the 20th Annual Street Party of Hope this Thursday, September 10th in Buffalo.
Lindsay Hourscht, a Buffalo Strong Board Member says the community-building event is intended to reacquaint friends and neighbors with new and established local health and wellness services, as well as to re-ignite the spirit of Buffalo Strong…
“We’re trying to re-brand and revive the Buffalo Strong name. We are starting to have new initiatives under the Buffalo Strong umbrella. We have a new youth mission called Youth Rising…and then we have a suicide coalition through Wright County. So, we’re really just focusing on community connection, mental health, mental wellness, bringing people together and just showing support.”
Hourscht says Buffalo Strong continues to strive to connect individuals with various mental health services…
“…counseling is hard to get sometimes, and it’s expensive. It’s overwhelming, and when you’re in a crisis, it’s hard to find what you need. So we kind of want to be the piece that leads up before a crisis happens that you fell supported, you’re not isolated. You’re connected to what you need. It’s all very exciting things, so Buffalo Strong is trying to be more involved in the community again.”
The Street Party of Hope will again be held in downtown Buffalo, with vendors, food trucks, entertainment and fun for the whole family. The event runs from 4 to 8 PM, and admission is free.
