Wright County Elections reminds county residents that the candidate filing window for the 2026 Primary and General Election opened on Tuesday.
Wright County Elections will be accepting affidavits for County Attorney, County Sheriff, County Commissioner for Districts 1, 3 and 4, and County Soil and Water District Supervisors. Prospective State Legislature candidates who live in Wright County may also file an affidavit.
Those seeking candidacy should visit the Wright County Elections Candidates filing page on the county website for further details about filing. Potential office seekers should also review the campaign filing packet, campaign finance forms, affidavit of candidacy form, and additional information available on the Secretary of State website. Please note that changes to state statute now require proof of residency and identification to prove their eligibility for the seat they are filing for.
Office seekers have until Tuesday, June 2nd to file their affidavit of candidacy. Candidate filing for local and school district offices will open on July 14th.
