The City of Buffalo has announced plans for its annual Arbor Day Tree Planting Event.
This year the Buffalo Parks & Recreation staff, Parks Advisory Board members, and volunteers will be gathering at Willow Ridge Park at 8th Avenue South and 5th Street South on Saturday, May 2nd beginning at 9 AM.
Parks staff will prep the planting sites by pre-drilling holes and putting trees in place so that volunteers can finish the planting by filling the holes and installing mulch around the base.
Buffalo Utility Department Staff will also be on site to hand out tree seedlings while they last, and will talk about other environmental subjects like the Adopt-a-Catch Basin program.
