Residents of Buffalo are reminded that the “Blooming Buffalo” program is still open for orders for the Go Native Plant Sale.
The City of Buffalo has partnered with MNL to offer the program which gives residents a chance to add native wildflowers to their landscapes, which in turn helps pollinators by providing a more welcoming local habitat.
Various signature plant kits are available. Each offers 36 native plants that vary in species from kit to kit. Orders are being accepted at a cost of $89 through September 7th. The plant kits will be available for pickup during The Great Outdoor Event at Sturges Park from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, September 19th.
Buffalo Utilities customers can receive a $35 direct rebate to be applied to their utility bill, reducing the cost of the Go Native Plant Kit to $54. Participants will also receive the Go Native Bundle to include a yard sign, rain gauge and pollinator seed packets.
