The Wright County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding the establishment of a lake improvement district for Crawford Lake in Wright County in early October.
The public hearing will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, October 7th during the regular meeting of the county board in the Commissioners’ Board Room at the Wright County Government Center.
A petition signed by a majority of the property owners in the proposed lake improvement district has been filed with the Wright County Auditor-Treasurer. The petition requests that the County Board order the establishment of a lake improvement district pursuant to Minnesota Statutes.
The proposed lake improvement district would undertake projects to maintain appropriate lake levels, control aquatic weeds, reduce sedimentation, and protect the fishery. The group proposes to work with Wright County and the Wright Soil & Water Conservation District, as well as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on appropriate projects.
