Two people were injured, one critically, when an SUV collided with a semi on icy roads late Monday afternoon in neighboring McLeod County. The State Patrol reports the crash happened just before 5 PM on Minnesota Highway 7 in Acoma Township.
Officials say the semi was eastbound on Highway 7, while the Jeep SUV was westbound. The Jeep reportedly went out of control due to the slippery road conditions and collided with the semi.
The driver of the SUV, 39-year-old Tracy Busch of Litchfield sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital.
Meanwhile the driver of the semi, 55-year-old Chadwick Chilson of West Concord, Minnesota, had life threatening injuries and was also taken to Regions Hosptial.
The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office and other local first responders assisted State Troopers at the scene.
