Dig Out – Clean Up Continues After Stronger Than Expected Winter Snow System

Wright County residents continue to dig out and clean-up after snow fell in the area from the early morning to mid-afternoon hours on Tuesday. The winter weather system featured a wider band of snow than expected, resulting in multiple inches of snow for most of Wright County.

Driving was tricky throughout much of the day on Wednesday as light drizzle was falling before the precipitation changed over to snow. Snow amounts were generally in the 4 to 5 inch range across a large section of the county, with snowfall a bit heavier in parts of southeastern Wright County and areas to the south and east.

Today’s weather includes some flurries, strong winds causing some blowing and drifting, and wind chills in the single digits. Tonight, temps are expected to drop into the single digits above zero, but winds are expected to die down.

Weather for later in the week looks much milder, with temps possibly reaching the upper 30s on Friday.
