Wright County has announced a change to its internet domain name.
Officials say due to requirements from the federal government to strengthen the cybersecurity of government websites and email accounts, Wright County has transitioned its official online presence to include .gov as its domain name.
The new domain name for the main page of the county website is; www.wrightcountymn.gov.
To ensure uninterrupted service and access, both domain names will be active for the next several months prior to the co.wright.mn.us domain being decommissioned. County officials say when that end date draws near, residents will again be notified of the change.
Wright County email addresses will also be updated to the new format ending in wrightcountymn.gov, but both the old and new email addresses will be active during the transition period to ensure no interruptions. Moving forward, when you get a response to an email from a county employee, it will be under the new .gov designation, however, the old email addresses will remain active for several months to give those who email county departments or employees time to update their records and contact lists to reflect these changes before they are decommissioned.
