Drivers Escape Injury in Two Vehicle Crash in Elk River

Some anxious moments, but no significant injuries when a pickup and a passenger car collided on Highway 169 in Elk River Thursday afternoon.

The State Patrol reports that around 3:30 PM, a Chevy Impala passenger car and a GMC pickup were both northbound on 169 near mile marker 160 when they collided.

The driver of the Chevy sedan, 22-year-old Alexyia Nerdahl of Zimmerman, and the driver of the pickup, 40-year-old Matthew Douglas, also from Zimmerman, both escaped injury.

The crash snarled traffic on the roadway, and the Elk River Police, EMS, and Fire Departments, along with the Minnesota DNR assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
