Officials in Carver County say an elderly woman who was struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk last week in Victoria has died from her injuries.
Carver County Sheriff Jason Kamerud identifies the victim as 85-year-old Lynne Knotts. Knotts was initially taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center after the crash which happened just before 9:30 AM last Wednesday, September 17th at the intersection of Victoria Drive and County Road 18 in the City of Victoria.
Witnesses reported that a vehicle was traveling northbound on Victoria Drive when the incident occurred. Officials say that witness reports indicated the driver, 53-year-old John Tate of Victoria was proceeding through the intersection with a green light. Sheriff Kamerud said the driver did stop, and stayed at the scene. Reports are that he was cooperative with authorities.
Authorities say the investigation into the crash is continuing.
