Emerald Ash Borer continues to spread across Minnesota, and state officials are now tracking the invasive insect in about 60 counties.
Minnesota Department of Agriculture entomologist Angie Ambourn says northern parts of the state are seeing increasing impacts…
“It’s really started to pick up a lot of places in the north, especially up towards the northwest. Counties are really starting to see some noticeable tree deaths and signs of emerald ash borer.”
Ambourn says identifying infestations as early as possible gives communities more time to respond…
“The earlier we find it, the better opportunity that a community has to start to mitigate emerald ash borer within their jurisdiction. And that’s really part of the point is us getting out there early, offering that help.”
The agency works with local communities on surveys and management planning.
