Fall Back Tonight!

A reminder for everyone to “fall back” tonight (Saturday). Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday morning at 2 AM, as we return to Central Standard Time.

Many electronic devices such as phones and computers will automatically make the switch, but everyone should make sure to manually set any standard, electric, or battery-operated clocks back one hour prior to turning in for the night tonight (Saturday).

The State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Red Cross say the weekend that we set clocks back also works great for remembering the importance of changing the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in our homes. Everyone is also encouraged to do a manual test of those safety items.

Experts say if you haven’t already done so, it’s also an excellent time to schedule a yearly furnace inspection and tune-up.
