Five people were injured Sunday afternoon when two SUVs collided on I-94 near Melrose.
The State Patrol reports that around 2 PM, a Kia Sorento and a Chevy Trailblazer were both westbound on the freeway when they collided. The Kia then left the roadway and rolled over.
Officials say both drivers and three passengers all were injured.
The driver of the Kia vehicle, 40-year-old Ryan Morrell, and two juvenile passengers, an 11-year-old female and a 7-year-old male, all of Coon Rapids had non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the CentraCare Hospital in Sauk Centre.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy SUV, 57-year-old Wendi Rothfork of Elk River, and a passenger, 82-year-old Janice Semear of Big Lake, both had non-life threatening injuries and also were treated at CentraCare Hospital in Sauk Centre.
Officials reported that both drivers and all of the passengers were using their seat belts.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the Melrose Police Department, and the Sauk Centre Police, Fire and EMS all assisted at the crash scene.
