Dairy producers in Minnesota have seen milk prices flatten over the summer.
Local dairy producer and Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing says a stagnant market has made it a tough summer for many dairy farmers…
“We did see some hope here a few months ago, and then it dropped back off a little bit. But (we need) to continue to figure out how to get more on the backside with putting less in on the front side of the cow.”
Glessing says costs continue to pressure already slim profit margins…
“Just trying to improve that efficiency to come down to a production cost level where you can be profitable. But that’s more challenging than it sounds.”
