Funeral Mass Today (Thursday) for Longtime Educator, Carpenter, Veteran, Donald Soupir

A funeral Mass is planned for today (Thursday) in Buffalo for well-known resident of the area. Donald Soupir passed away April 26th at his home at the age of 77.

Don was born and raised in the Tracy-Milroy area on the family farm. He enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard after high school, and earned the rank of Master Sergeant E8. He was a Winter Operations Instructor stationed at Camp Ripley in Little Falls, and later in St. Paul. He retired with 24 years of service.

Locally, Don was a finish carpenter for 50 years, and did work at the St. Francis Xavier Christ the King Adoration Chapel.

Don taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Wood Shop for 12 years at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Buffalo.

He was also a longtime member of the Wright County GOP Party, and was the former party chair.

The funeral Mass for Donald Soupir is scheduled for today (Thursday) at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo. The family prefers memorials to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in lieu of flowers.
