A funeral Mass is set for today (Wednesday) in Maple Lake for a lifelong area resident, farmer and community volunteer.
John McAlpine passed away July 24th at the age of 79.
John grew up in Maple Lake and graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1964. Following high school, he served in the U-S Army.
John and his wife, Rita, raised their family on their farm in Maple Lake. John also dedicated many years to the City of Maple Lake’s Public Works Department. He was also an active member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. John was a proud member of the Maple Lake American Legion for more than 48 years.
The Mass of Christian Burial for John McAlpine will be held today at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Maple Lake. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the St. Timothy Catholic Church and / or the Annandale Care Center.
