Harvest season is in full swing across Wright County, and motorists are reminded that there will be more farm equipment sharing the roadways for the next few weeks. Though these machines are essential to the farming community, they can be large, slow-moving, and difficult to maneuver.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to slow down when approaching farm equipment. Motorists are urged to be patient and allow extra following distance.
When passing, do so safely only when you have a clear view and in an area where it is legal to do so. Officials say drivers should remember that farm machinery may need extra room to turn, including into field entrances.
The Sheriff’s Office urges the driving public to stay alert and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
