Fall vaccine season is here, and many health experts say getting those yearly vaccines is better when done sooner than later.
Kris Ehresmann with the St. Olaf Public Health Faculty says now is a good time to get both the flu and Covid vaccines so you’re protected in time for the holiday family get togethers…
“With influenza and Covid, the viruses are changing every year so we’re constantly having to revamp the vaccines so to speak so we get vaccinated more regularly. And the protection we get can protect us from getting disease. Sometimes people can still come down the with disease but the most important thing the vaccine does is it prevents severe illness and complications.”
Ehresmann says it takes about two weeks for your body to adjust to the vaccines and provide immunity for the flu and Covid.
