MnDOT says the rehabilitation of State Highway 25 between Buffalo and Monticello will officially get underway today (Tuesday).
Preliminary work began last week, and signage has been put into place in recent days to highlight the detour routes for motorists.
MnDOT says access will generally be maintained for those who live in the area, but some hard closures to all traffic will be necessary during entrance and roundabout construction. Officials add however that motorists should follow signed detours in all areas.
Residents should note that the hospital and ER access in Buffalo will be open and maintained using side streets from Highway 55, Highway 25, and County Road 83. Drivers should follow the blue “H” hospital signage along the detour route.
For standard traffic, drivers should follow the signed detour along County Road 131, County Road 37, County Road 12 and Highway 55.
Crews will reconstruct Highway 25, add roundabouts at Highway 25 and County Road 37, also at Catlin Street in Buffalo near the Buffalo Hospital, and also at Highway 25 and County Road 113. Work is expected to continue through the summer, concluding in the early fall.
