The Wright County Highway Department has announced its seasonal seal coating schedule which is set to begin on Monday, May 13th.

Approximately 27 miles of Wright County highways and several county park parking lots and trails are scheduled for the maintenance work over the next few weeks.

Seal coating is a preventive maintenance activity that extends the life of the pavement that would otherwise need to have a more expensive repair sooner. It involves spraying asphalt cement on the surface of an existing pavement followed by the application of a cover aggregate (pea rock or granite) and includes a thin fog coating of asphalt.

The project will be completed around late-May 2024. Pearson Brothers, Inc. of Hanover is doing the work. The highways will remain open while the work is done. Flaggers will be present to help guide traffic – travelers can expect minor delays. This project will use a pilot car to lead traffic through the work area.
