A Wright County man was one of the drivers involved in a fatal traffic crash that happened in the early morning hours on Wednesday in Elk River.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that just after 6 AM Wednesday, a Mitsubishi passenger car was southbound on Highway 169 while a dump truck was northbound on Highway 169, in the left turn lane to go west on 221st Avenue Northwest when the vehicles collided.
The driver of the Mitsubishi sedan, 18-year-old Brayden Grunzke of Zimmerman died as a result of the crash. The driver of the dump truck, 64-year-old Kenneth Lynch of Rockford, was not injured.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, the Elk River Police and Fire Departments, MnDOT, and local EMS teams also responded to the crash scene.
