The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the public in a search for a driver and vehicle that struck and injured a man, and killed a dog in an apparent pedestrian hit-and-run incident Friday morning.
The Sheriff’s Department says a report came in around 7:30 AM detailing the incident that happened on County Road 18 Northeast at Oak Ridge Drive in Monticello.
Officials say when deputies arrived on the scene, they found a man and a dog had been struck by a vehicle. Authorities say the man sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital. The dog however, died as a result of the incident.
Officials say they are looking for a 2014 to 2016 metallic blue Subaru Forester that may be missing a passenger side mirror as the vehicle they believe was involved in the crash.
