A Memorial Mass is planned for Saturday in Waverly for a longtime area resident and noted Montrose elected official.
Roy Henry passed away June 14th at the age of 86.
Roy graduated from St. Mary High School in Waverly in 1958, and went on to work for his father. Roy and his wife, Sylvia, raised their family in Waverly, later making their home in Montrose.
Roy formerly served on the Montrose City Council and as the city’s Mayor. He and Sylvia were named Minneapolis Aquatennial Commodore award winners in 2008 for their service to the community.
The Mass for Roy Henry is scheduled for 11 AM Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.
