Metro Area Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Pickup in Elk River

A Twin Cities area man died in a pickup vs. motorcycle crash in Elk River early Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol reports that around 6:45 AM, a pickup truck that was westbound on 213th Avenue in Elk River was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of traffic on Highway 169 when it collided with a motorcycle that was southbound on 169.

The motorcyclist, 25-year-old Jacob Hoel of Blaine was killed in the crash. Officials say he was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the pickup, 22-year-old David Marsh of Farmington, was not injured.

The Elk River Police and Fire Departments, and Allina Ambulance assisted at the scene.
