Minnesota Food Shelves Face Sustained Demand as Household Costs Rise

Second Harvest Heartland says food insecurity is no longer just a short-term crisis, but an ongoing challenge as more Minnesotans continue to need help putting food on the table.

Second Harvest CEO Sarah Moberg…

“We are entering a new era of elevated and sustained need. We used to talk about a hunger crisis and crisis would mean that there is a beginning and an end. And what we are seeing and hearing and experiencing now is just ongoing increased need.”

Moberg says with grocery bills, utility costs and gas prices all putting pressure on household budgets, more Minnesota families are struggling to make ends meet and keep food on the table.
