MN Cold Weather Rule Ending Tuesday

Minnesota’s cold weather protection ends on April 30th. Michael Schmitz, director of the Office of Energy Assistance Programs at the State Department of Commerce, says energy assistance grants are still available…”When energy costs rise, those who can least afford it are affected the most. So we encourage folks if you know someone who is struggling — if you are struggling yourself to encourage your neighbors, your friends, or relatives to apply or apply yourself.”

Schmitz says to contact your provider immediately if you are facing utility disconnection and see if you qualify for a payment plan.

Here in Wright County, you can find out more about energy assistance by contacting Wright County Community Action in Maple Lake at (320) 963-6500.
