The Minnesota Department of Ag’s Farm to School program connects local producers to local schools.

Program supervisor Kate Seybold says the program is a real win-win…

Schools and early care providers can apply for and receive grant funding to buy Minnesota grown and raised foods. And in doing so, we’re helping to get fresh local food into school and early care meals and helping our producers sell their products.”

Officials say that the Dassel-Cokato School District will be receiving a 30-thousand dollar “Full Tray” grant for use in the coming year.

The MDA is awarding more than $1.3 million during this most recent round of funding that is made available through the department’s Agricultural Growth, Research, and Innovation, or AGRI program.
