MnDOT Says Highway 12 Work in Howard Lake and Waverly Completed, Montrose Nearing Completion

MnDOT says crews have completed work on Highway 12 in Howard Lake and Waverly, and all lanes have now re-opened.

It was a long summer of road construction on the major highway in several Wright County communities, but officials say in the long run, the smoother ride, improved pedestrian features, reconstructed curbs, gutters and entrances and upgraded sidewalks and crosswalk signals should improve traffic and safety for years to come.

Meanwhile, work on Highway 12 continues in Montrose. MnDOT officials say crews have resurfaced the north half of the highway, and traffic shifted in recent days so crews can now focus on the south side through late October. While the road work continues in Montrose, motorists will encounter narrow lanes, lane shifts and flaggers. Access to businesses and homes remains open via alternate entrances, side streets and sidewalk detours.

Final paving in Montrose is planned for late October, and MnDOT officials say that the bituminous work will be done under traffic with flaggers present.
