Monticello to Host New “Heritage Day” Celebration Today (Saturday)

The City of Monticello will host a new community celebration today (Saturday). “Heritage Day” will honor the past, and the history that has shaped Monticello into what it is today.

The events will be held in the city’s West Bridge Park along the Mississippi River which was and continues to be the key natural resource for Monticello. Numerous departments as well as community volunteers came together to plan the event which will have much to offer.

One special area will be the Maker’s Market on Walnut and River Streets. Visitors can also take a deep dive into Monticello’s history through a vast collection of photos from various eras.

Monticello’s first ever “Heritage Day” will run from 9 AM to 5 PM. With the exception of food and beverage concessions, most events and activities are free.
