One Driver Injured in Car – Minivan Crash Early Wednesday Near Clearwater

One person was injured when a passenger car collided with a mini-van early Wednesday morning near Clearwater.

The State Patrol reports that around 5:40 AM, a Chevrolet Cruze passenger car was southbound on Highway 24 while a Ford Freestar mini-van was northbound on Highway 24, attempting to turn onto 179th Street North in Clearwater Township. The vehicles collided at the intersection.

Injured in the crash was the driver of the Chevy sedan, 21-year-old Benjamin Bieniek of Holdingford, who sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the St. Cloud Hospital.

The driver of the Ford mini-van, 27-year-old Harlan Nohava of Kimball, was not injured.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, the Clearwater Fire Department, and CentraCare Ambulance assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
