One Injured as Four Vehicles Collide Near Maple Lake

One driver was injured Thursday afternoon in a four-vehicle traffic crash near Maple Lake.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that the crash happened around 4:10 PM on Highway 55 and Baker Street in Maple Lake Township.

Authorities say a Chevy Equinox SUV was westbound on Highway 55, while a Volkswagen Passat passenger car was northbound on Baker Street. A Nissan Titan pickup and a Mercury Mariner mini-van were both southbound on Baker Street, and all four vehicles collided.

The driver of the Chevy SUV, 34-year-old Jessica Wilson of Annandale was the only person injured in the crash. She sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Buffalo Hospital.

The driver of the VW sedan, 18-year-old Quinn Wikman of Independence, the Nissan pickup driver, 57-year-old Brian Kaelke of Elk River, and the driver of the mini-van, 53-year-old Katrina Rivard of Buffalo, all escaped injury.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
