Political Analyst Says Lindell Could Still be a Factor in GOP Gubernatorial Race

After the recent exit of Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Jensen, some believe a two-way race between House Speaker Lisa Demuth and Kendall Qualls is emerging.

But Carleton College Professor Emeritus Steven Schier says not to count out My Pillow founder Mike Lindell in the GOP race for governor. Schier says one of the reasons Lindell could be a legitimate contender is his support from President Trump, and strong monetary support…

“Here’s the point about Lindell. He was down at Mar-a-Lago and raised apparently a considerable amount of money. So he is definitely a serious contender for the nomination.”

Schier says Kendall Qualls is well-known by party activists, but not necessarily by Minnesota voters…

“He is the most obscure of top three candidates and he needs to do something about that if he’s going to emerge as the endorsed candidate.”

Schier says it could be a three-way race between Demuth, Qualls, and Lindell all the way to the state convention in Duluth in late May.
