More road work in our region means more road closures this week.
The Wright County Highway Department says beginning April 30th, County Road 137 will be closed as the CSAH 37 / CR 137 improvement project continues.
Officials say construction began April 13th, and crews have been progressing through the planned work stages. Stage 1 which included the MacIver Avenue Roundabout has been completed. Stage 2 will feature work on County Road 137 from the westbound I-94 ramp to east of Lymon Avenue, forcing closure of the roadway to through traffic. A signed detour will direct drivers to County Highway 19, County Highway 38 and MacIver Avenue.
Later this summer, Stage 3 work will include reconstruction of the I-94 ramps. During this phase, traffic will be detoured to the County Highway 19 interchange.
The highway department says access to local businesses will be maintained throughout construction. Temporary bypass lanes are in place to ensure safe and direct access for customers.
