Many of Minnesota’s farmers and ranchers who have been visiting the Minnesota Farm Bureau exhibit at the state fair have had similar topics on their mind…
“You look at the announcement of the imports of trimmings in the beef industry, that’s been a topic of conversation. Getting a Farm Bill passed….I think everyone is kind of frustrated that we are where we’re at, and full-well knowing that’s going to be a topic of conversation now that they’re back in D-C for session. But all in all, I think the overall concern is now that we’ve had a recent uptick in prices, there’s a little more positivity, but it doesn’t take away the fact that our input prices have gone up substantially in the last five years. So we need to figure out how to affordably put a crop in, or put a calf on the ground, or whatever it is just so that we can continue to farm and raise our families.”
