Maple Grove Republican Kristin Robbins continues to build on an anti-fraud theme for her gubernatorial bid.
Representative Robbins unveiled her anti-fraud policy Monday at the capitol, saying it would start with creating an Office of Inspector General…
“This program is common sense. It’s used in many other states and we tried but didn’t get it past the finish line in the legislature this year. We need to have this independent authority in the Executive Branch to investigate and provide accountability and I would fully support that.”
The OIG bill breezed through the Minnesota Senate last session but the measure didn’t get a vote in the House. The bill died during budget negotiations when DFL’ers said the price tag was too costly.
Robbins says besides creating an Office of Inspector General, her plan includes changing the culture to stop fraud earlier and creating protections for whistle-blowers.
