Republican Race for Governor Could be Decided by Primary

The GOP campaign for governor continues to appear to be up in the air.

Currently, it’s a three-way race between House Speaker Lisa Demuth, and fellow Republicans Kendall Qualls, and Mike Lindell.

Carleton College analyst Steve Schier says it could be an interesting battle for the Republican party endorsement next month at the Minnesota GOP convention…

Well right, And there again can anybody get endorsed.  If all three of them stay active, I don’t see how anybody gets to 60 percent.”

Schier says the Republican gubernatorial race could be decided by a primary vote in August, along with the GOP race for U-S Senate. He says the Republican U-S Senate candidates Royce White, Adam Scwarze, Mark York, and Michelle Tafoya all hope to advance to the November general election against whoever becomes the DFL candidate.
