A Wright County area man is being held in Wisconsin on charges of first-degree murder in the death of his father at a cabin northwest of Spooner.
Authorities in Washburn County, Wisconsin earlier charged 25-year-old Colton Christopherson of St. Michael with first-degree intentional homicide in the stabbing death of 56-year-old Allan Christopherson, also of St. Michael, at a cabin property on McKenzie Lake on September 26th.
Court records outlined that the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office had received a request for a welfare check at the cabin, stating that the father and son had been having issues, and that Colton, the son, was suspected of drug use. The report went on to say that when deputies arrived, they found Colton Christopherson outside the cabin. The younger Christopherson allegedly told authorities that he killed his father with a knife, and told officers where to find the body and the weapon.
Colton Christopherson made his first court appearance earlier this week, and is being held on 5 million dollars bail. He is scheduled to appear at a mental competency hearing on December 7th.
