Storm Could Bring Snow to be Measured in Feet, not Inches

Forecasters are preparing Minnesotans for what they say could be the biggest snowstorm in years, with snowfall amounts that could be measured in feet, not inches.

Nick Carletta with the National Weather Service in Chanhassen says there may be some variation in accumulation, but most of the central and southern part of the state will have plenty to dig out from.

The first wave of the storm moved in around midday on Tuesday with 2 to 3  inches of snow. About 4 inches of additional snow was received overnight into Wednesday morning.

A winter storm warning remains in effect in our area through midday today (Wednesday), to be followed by a blizzard warning which will be in effect through midday on Thursday.

Most schools in our area are either closed completely for today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday). Many districts are switching to e-learning scenarios. Please check; www.krwc1360.com for updates.
