Street Party of Hope Tonight (Thursday) in Downtown Buffalo

Buffalo Strong invites residents and visitors to the “Street Party of Hope” tonight (Thursday) in Buffalo.

Tonight marks the 20th anniversary of the event that encourages the community to come together in support of each other, in support of local businesses, and to build community spirit.

Becca Nemesi with Buffalo Strong says for the last few years, the emphasis for fundraising through the Street Party of Hope has been to help support the mental health of residents of the area…

That’s emotional, intellectual, physical, trauma response, there are so many things that feed into your mental health and impact the quality of your life…everyone’s life on a day to day basis. So there’s really no holds barred when it comes to taking care of mental health. Everything has a touch point.”

She says that’s why Buffalo Strong has re-doubled its efforts to connect individuals with various mental health services…

Buffalo Strong is all about finding those ways to create the connections that make us stronger. Whether it’s a youth outreach program….currently we’ve got an arm of Buffalo Strong called Youth Rising, it’s a new initiative. They are taking off like gangbusters and growing. We’ve got trauma response, men’s group, places over at the new Buffalo Community Center that are strictly Buffalo Strong sponsored. But there’s always more to do….and the Street Party of Hope is the single big fundraiser, this is where we put all of our chips on the table. This is the fundraiser that does it all. This is our one-stop shop, we are throwing everything we’ve got into this event.”

The 2026 Street Party of Hope will again be held in downtown Buffalo, with vendors, food trucks, entertainment and fun for the whole family. The event runs from 4 to 8 PM, and admission is free.
