Officials with the Wright County Planning and Zoning Office have announced that the new Wright County Household Hazardous Waste Facility at its original location off CSAH 37 Northeast, north of Buffalo, will be re-opening to the public on Tuesday, September 15th.
The temporary Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Maple Lake has now closed as the transition to the new facility begins. Officials say no drop-offs of any kind will be accepted through September 14th.
Once the new facility opens, public drop-off hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and every 2nd and 3rd Saturday from 8 AM to 12 noon.
With the redevelopment of the site, there are some important new procedures for everyone using the facility, including a required check-in for everyone entering the site. Each visitor must also present valid Wright County identification such as a Wright County ID or tax statement.
There will also be new requirements for how materials to be brought in for drop-off must be prepared. These new requirements will cover cardboard, yard waste, used sharps and more.
The new Household Hazardous Waste Facility will also have a new phone number. Once the facility re-opens on September 15th, all calls should be directed to (763) 682-7547.
